Former WARRANT Singer, JAMES BROWN's Longtime Companion Jam With KOTTAK In Hollywood

Sunday night (January 14) at the Cat Club in Hollywood, California, KOTTAK — the band featuring James Kottak (SCORPIONS),Rev Jones (MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP) and Athena (Tommy Lee's siter) — invited several friends up on stage to jam while celebrating Rev's birthday. First up was former WARRANT singer Jani Lane, who actually didn't sing but instead played drums with the band for over half the show. Rev Jones said, "Jani played played the songs great and he had never even heard them before. It was pretty fun." Joining the group next was Tomi Rae Hynie (James Brown's longtime companion),who sang lead on a couple songs and did a duet with Kottak on the SCORPIONS classic "Holiday". Also joining in on the jam was guitarist Rick Plester (BLACK SYMPHONY) and vocalist Happenin' Harry.

In other news, Rev Jones has lined up the following NAMM appearances:

* Thursday (Jan. 18) playing with Eric Ragno at Keytar (#5806).

* Thursday night at the Fender Ave Bar & Grill in Fullerton, playing with KOTTAK (10 p.m.),BLACK SYMPHONY (11 p.m.),and the NAMM Jamm, featuring members of LYNCH MOB, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, LIZZY BORDEN, VOX TEMPUS, SCORPIONS, and others (12 p.m.).

* Friday (Jan. 19) apearing throughout the day at Dean Guitars (#5466),Eden Electronics (#5244),and playing with Eric Ragno at Keytar (#5806).

* Saturday (Jan. 20) doing singing sessions with KOTTAK at 1 p.m. & 3 p.m. at LM Products (#4283),also appearing throughout the day at Dean Guitars (#5466),Eden Electronics (#5244),and playing with Eric Ragno at Keytar (#5806).

* Saturday night at Paladino's in Tarzana, playing with KOTTAK (9:30 p.m.).

* Sunday doing a signing session 11a.m. at Kahler (#5727).
